Before the device can work properly it needs to be powered up and configured to use your local WiFi.

  1. Connect power to the Device. You can use any USB power source - preferably a dedicated power supply and not a laptop or PC as these do not provide enough power.
  2. When the device is connected for the first time (or its configuration has been reset), the device will create a WiFi Access Point for you to connect to using your mobile or laptop.
  3. Connect your mobile phone or laptop to the WiFi Access Point created by the device - at this time is called OV Halte Display. There is no password needed to connect.
  4. Once connected to the OV Halte Display WiFi then go to your preferred browser and enter 'sms.com' as URL - actally you can enter any name you wish as URL - and then the device will return the WiFi Set Up page.
  5. Either enter directly the name and password for your local WiFi and click Save OR click on WiFi List to see a list of WiFi Access Points the device can detect, select the WiFi Access Point from the List and then enter the password and Save!
  6. The device will now reboot and will attempt to connect to your local WiFi with the credentials as supplied previously.

If the device connects all ok then it will display the stop information you configured earlier.

If the device does not connect to your local WiFi successfully then it will make 4 more attempts after which it will reset itself and ask you for you local WiFi information once again.
